Milking Sheep
A combination of East Friesian, Lacaune, and Icelandic sheep to provide us with excellent milk quality and volume.

Milk Sheep
Sheep have long been breed to fill many different purposes for humans. The two most common uses today are for meat and for wool, but a third purpose is coming back into the limelight for sheep: Milk production.

Sheep at Ranczo Brioso
Here at Ranczo Brioso we have searched far and wide for sheep with excellent milk genetics. We have found that a combination of East Friesian, Lacaune, and Icelandic have given us sheep that produce protein rich, beautiful milk. In addition to milk production our sheep have excellent wool. We love out goats for the huge amount of milk they produce and the constant entertainment factor, but the milk produced by sheep is a class above both goat and cow's milk. While the volume cannot compete with goats or cows, the quality can. Sheep are also better lawn mowers and won't test fences like goats and cows do. So if you are looking for excellent milk, and easy to contain friendly animals, sheep from Ranczo Brioso might be right for you.
